A Bit of Me(me) is a great new meme that is sponsored by There's a Book. It is intended for everyone to get to know our fellow book bloggers a little bit better.
This week's Question :
Tell us all about your favorite movie and why. Can’t pick one? Give us your top five!
My Favorite Movie without a doubt is :
I just love the whole thing and especially the last couple of lines " Peter has asked when we fell in love, I just told him While you were Sleeping"
Next would have to be :
Dirty Dancing; "Nobody puts Baby in the Corner"
Number 3 would be :
Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopie Goldberg nuff said
Number 4
"When Your a Jet, Your a Jet"
And last but not least:
The original Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. The remake was okay but didn't have the heart warming scenes that the original ones (they were going more for the comedy). My favorite is when Lucy goes into labor and on the way out the door Henry Fonda is explaining to Lucy's oldest daughter about what is really important. Also after the baby was born the Peter askes his oldest stepbrother if the baby "Is he my brother or Yours to which the brother answers, He's both our brother"
Love, Love, Love this movie. I guess I like stories about big families (I'm a 19 kids and counting junkie).
Honorable Mention would be :
The Long, Long Trailer (Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz)
Rear Window (Collector's Edition) Jimmy Stewart
Looking forward to learning more about everyone else.
Oh, my goodness, you and I are soulmates in regards to movies. Or almost. I consider several on your list among my favorites as well. You've pointed out great lines from two of them. I also love The Long, Long Trailer and I wonder how many people even know about that one. :-)
ReplyDeleteKay - I just happened to stumble upon the Long Long Trailer one Saturday on tv (at least 27 years ago) and watch it every time I see it on . I also own the dvd!!
ReplyDeleteA romantic I can see. I love your choices! While You Were Sleeping was so wonderful! And I absolutely adore Jimmy Stewart in the Rear Window.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in, I'm having a blast getting to know everyone better!
I was 7 when Dirty Dancing first came out, so I don't think I actually saw it until it was available for renting. However, I remember my friends and I all loving it when I was about 9. Still holds a place in my heart. :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom also had a copy of the original Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda, and we watched it a lot of times while I was growing up. Loved the scene where they go grocery shopping and get about 10 jars of peanut butter and Miracle Whip. :)
Oh, I love all of these! How could I have excluded Ghost from my favorites today?
ReplyDeleteNow I want to watch that over again.
Here's my bit of me:

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing more or you with us!!
Have a blessed weekend ♥
I agree with you, the original of Yours, Mine, Ours was much better. Seriously though, could anyone have hoped to do better than Fonda and Ball?
ReplyDeleteOh I agree Gwen, can't get much better than Fonda and Ball.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great meme...Dirty Dancing..can't tell you how many times I have seen that. Thinking that I am going to particpate in this meme next week. Thank you for posting about it.
