About The Memory Jar:

Book One in the Seven Brides for Seven Bachelors series

Every year, 30-40 young Amish men descend on the cozy little town of West Kootenai, Montana, arriving in the spring to live there for six months and receive 'resident' status for the hunting season in the fall. They arrive as bachelors, but go home with brides! Sarah Shelter has lived in West Kootenai for the last ten years and wonders if she will ever fall in love. Since the tragic death of her best friend, she carries her memories in a jar along with the small items connected to them. For just as long, she's also been carrying around her emotions instead of allowing them to penetrate deep into her heart. Now she's met a kind and gentle man who may be able to break down the wall. But can Sarah risk her heart to finally achieve her dreams?

My Take:  In this start to a new series by Tricia Goyer, we meet Sarah Shelter who has recently lost her best friend and holds memories of her in a jar with the objects that represent the memories.  When she meets Jathan she starts to open up a bit to him. She learns that his mother owns a bakery, which is a dream she has had for herself.  But he needs to return home because of a family illness.  Is this where it all ends or will they find a way to continue their relationship?  You will have to read the book to find out.  I am looking forward to the next installments in this series.  I liked that there was a glossary of Amish words in the front of the book.  I have read many Amish books so I knew what the words meant but I had to figure them out for myself, this will be a help to someone who is not very familiar to the vocabulary.

I received a review copy of this book from Litfuse Publicity in exchange for my honest opinion.
