New Tricks by David Rosenfelt

This is a book that is in a series of books about a lawyer that defends dogs or has the welfare of dogs in the case somewhere.  In this book  Andy Carpenter is called in to make sure that a showdog is given to the best person after a millionaire is killed.  Things get alittle personal when his girlfriend is gunned down in his front yard while she is playing with the dogs.  This would make a perfect cozy mystery except there is language throughout the book (not much).  I enjoyed this book and I really liked the main character.  You don't need to read the rest of the series to enjoy this book.
