Book Spotlight of You're Gonna Love Me by Robin Lee Hatcher

You're Gonna Love Me (Thunder Creek #2)

Who knew fate could twist a tragedy into a second chance at love?

Samantha Winters lives her life the way a good accountant should—measured, deliberate, and safe. After watching her father die in a tragic skiing accident, she decided never to allow risk into her life again. But she didn’t count on falling for Nick Chastain, who embodies everything she doesn’t want in her safely constructed world.

Against Samantha’s warnings, Nick plans a dangerous kayaking trip over spring break. Furious that he’s so careless with his life, she ends their fledgling relationship with harsh words.

Two years later, Samantha is desperately in need of a change. When she learns her grandmother has had an accident and is in need of a caretaker, Samantha quickly packs her bags and heads to Thunder Creek, Idaho. But nothing could prepare her for the surprise awaiting her in her grandmother’s hospital room . . . Nick.

With the charming backdrop of small-town friends, beloved cousins, and a whole church congregation rooting for them, can they set aside the disastrous ending of their first try at love? Has Nick changed enough to meet Samantha in the middle—and can she realize that a risk in love might be worth taking?

A Promise Kept by Robin Lee Hatcher

Book Info
About the book: God was going to save her marriage, Allison was sure of it. But neither her husband nor her marriage had been saved.

What had become of His promise?

Tony Kavanagh had been Allison's dream-come-true. They were in love within days, engaged within weeks, married and pregnant within a year. Her cup bubbled over with joy . . . but years later, that joy had been extinguished by unexpected trials.

The day Allison issued her husband an ultimatum, she thought it might save him. She never expected he would actually leave. She was certain God had promised to heal; it was clear that she'd misunderstood.

Now, living in the quiet mountain cabin she inherited from her single, self-reliant Great Aunt Emma, Allison must come to terms with her grief and figure out how to adapt to small town life. But when she finds a wedding dress and a collection of journals in Emma's attic, a portrait of her aunt emerges that takes Allison completely by surprise: a portrait of a heartbroken woman surprisingly like herself.

As Allison reads the incredible story of Emma's life in the 1920s and 1930s, she is forced to ask a difficult question: Does she really surrender every piece of her life to the Lord?

Drawing from her own heart-wrenching story of redemption, A Promise Kept is Robin Lee Hatcher's emotionally charged thanksgiving to a God who answers prayers---in His own time and His own ways.

My Take:  This is a story with a theme that we all need to remember.  God always answers our prayers just not always in the way we think they should be answered.  I loved going on the journey with Allison as she learned about her Aunt Emma and learned about herself and God in the Process.  This book was made even more special knowing the fact that it was based on a time in the authors life when she went through similar situations.  I would highly recommend this book.

Beloved by Robin Lee Hatcher

Book Info
About the book: Diana is ready to begin a new chapter in her life-until the husband she believed dead reappears at her engagement party.

Diana Brennan came west on the orphan train and was given a home with a loving couple who cherished and spoiled her. At 17, she fell hard for Tyson Applegate, the son of a wealthy mine owner. After a whirlwind courtship and marriage, Tyson took off for adventures around the world, including fighting with the Rough Riders in Cuba. Receiving no word from him in years, Diana's infatuation with her dashing husband died an ugly death, and she is ready to move past the old pain and marry again, just as soon as Tyson is declared legally dead.

But when Tyson returns, claiming to be a changed man, he wants to reunite with his wife and run for the senate. While Diana suspects the election is his real reason for wanting her by his side, she agrees to maintain his home and to campaign with him, but when it is over, win or lose, she wants her freedom.

He agrees with one condition---she must give him a chance to change her mind about him.

My Take:  This is the third book in a series.  I have not read the other two books in the series but will definitely be going back to see how the other two books were.  Not reading the other two books did not take away from my enjoyment of this book.  It stands alone very well.

Diana has long thought that her husband was dead and she is ready to move on with her life.  she gets a big surprise when her husband comes walking back into her life wanting to start over again and wanting her to stand by his side as he runs for Senate.  She agrees but doesn't trust him because he did go off and abandoned her for all those years.  There are many interesting things going on in this book and if you like historical fiction and a well written story you will want to read this book for yourself.

A Bride For All Seasons by Margaret Brownley, Debra Clopton, Robin Lee Hatcher and Mary Connealy

A Bride for All SeasonsMore about A Bride For All Seasons:

It All Started with an Ad in a Mail Order Bride Catalogue . . .

Melvin Hitchcock of the Hitching Post Mail Order Bride Catalog isn't dishonest---not exactly. If he tweaks his clients' applications a bit, it's because he's looking out for their best interests.
This charming bouquet of novellas introduces four Hitching Post prospects in the year 1870, each one eager for second chances . . . and hungry for happiness. Year in, year out, they'll learn that love often comes in unexpected packages.
And Then Came Spring by Margaret Brownley
Mary-Jo has been unlucky all her life. But who would guess she'd travel halfway across the country to meet her match . . . only to find him dead!
An Ever-After Summer by Debra Clopton
Ellie had no idea she's not what Matthew ordered. And what's wrong with being a "Bible thumper" anyway? She's determined to show him she's tougher than she looks---and just the girl he needs.
Autumn's Angel by Robin Lee Hatcher
Luvena would be perfect for Clay if she didn't come with kids. But kids are a deal breaker, especially in a rough-and-trouble mining town. The trouble is, there's no money to send them back. . .
Winter Wedding Bells by Mary Connealy
David's convinced he's not long for the world. He needs someone to mother his boys when he's gone---nothing more. Can plucky Irish Megan convince him to work at living instead of dying?

My Take:  What do you get when four different authors take a similar premise?  You get this wonderful collection of four novellas  all in one collection.  Four Men put an ad in a mail order bride catalog.  But without them knowing the editor embellishes the ads that certain people end up together. Each of the stories are set in different season.  Can these arranged marriages find love.  These are great stories great for when you want a quick story.

A Matter of Character by Robin Lee Hatcher Blog tour and Giveaway

A Matter of Robin Lee Hatcher

Isn't this Cover Great.  I have seen the covers for the other books in the series and thought that they looked fun so I jumped at the chance to reveiw this book.

From Goodreads:  In A Matter of Character, by award-winning author Robin Lee Hatcher, the year is 1918 and writing gritty dime novels simply isn't done by a woman. So Daphne McKinley---smart, pretty, talented---publishes her rough-and-tumble books under a male pseudonym. But when a newspaperman enlists her aid in restoring his grandfather's good name, Daphne finds herself re-examining the power of her words and reconsidering the direction of her life.

My Take:  I really enjoyed this book. I liked all the Characters especially Daphne.  I think that the basis of the book is a good one.  Even if it is fiction, words either written or spoken are powerful things that can hurt people and their reputations.

This book was kind of like having two in one because there were two distinct parts.  The first part about the suspense of the writer of the dime  novels and the second about what would happen between Daphne and Joshua.

This book is part of a series but it definately can stand on it's own .
